Women and the Vote NYS is honoring local suffragists this election day.

To honor the many suffragists who fought for passage of the 19th amendment and beyond, people will visit the grave sites in hometowns across NY state wearing their “I Voted” stickers. Then they’ll take selfies and videos speaking about why the work of women’s suffrage remains so essential.

Here in Rockland County, let’s take part in the state-wide celebration!

We will meet at the Historical Marker at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack, NY on Tuesday, November 3 anytime between 12noon and 3pm.

Oak Hill is the burial site of two local suffragists who appear on the women and the vote NY listing: Caroline Lexow Babcock and Lulu Edsall Serven.

Hope to see you there!
